Collegiates May Now Enter Teen Masters!

The Teen Masters is adding a collegiate division effective immediately!  Qualifying for the Teen Masters Collegiate Division National Championships will begin this weekend and continue through the final weekend of May. The Collegiate division's championship event will be staged August 5 - 7 at the South Point.
As only one (1) squad of competition at the national finals this summer, the maximum field size will be 180 athletes.  The limited number of slots will be filled as follows:
1.  Regional Qualifying - beginning this weekend, March 28 & 29, each remaining regional qualifying event will stage collegiate division qualifying.  The top collegiate boy and top collegiate girl from each singles squad will earn an invitation to compete in Las Vegas.  Additional invitations will be extended to bowlers finishing in top positions at the larger regional events until 180 invitations have been extended.
2.  Teen Masters Alumni - if the regional qualifying events fail to fill the national field, invitations will be offered to eligible bowlers who bowled in the Teen Masters in previous years.
3.  Last Chance Qualifier - an open Last Chance Qualifier will be held in Las Vegas on August 5 to fill any remaining spots.
To be eligible for the Teen Masters Collegiate Division you must be a High School graduate who was 21 or younger as of August 1, 2008.  The division will be certified Youth/Adult, and will offer SMART scholarship awards at both the regional and national levels on a 1:5 ratio.

Gail Regnier Memorial Sportsmanship Award

This is our newest award...in memory of Gail Regnier, Josh's mother, who passed away unexpectedly recently.
Gail was a long time employee of Bradley Bowl (CT) and a USBC Bronze Level Coach with a long interest in junior bowling.

This award will be given to the NeJST competitor who best exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, positive attitude and enthusiam.

All NeJST competitors and parents will be able to vote for this year's recipient at each of this season's remaining tournaments beginning 3/22/09.

No Outside Food Allowed at Striker's East

The management of Striker's East has asked me to remind all bowlers and parents that they have a nice snack bar and they do NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK in the center.

Last year some folks that were asked to dispose of their outside food evidently got mad and threw it at the center's door windows. Such behavior will not be tolerated by our organization. Anyone caught behaving in such a manner will be banned from future participation in the tour.
