Litchco's Hot Shot of the Week Award Starts Today

Beginning with today's tournament at Brattleboro Bowl, Litchco's Pro Shop will be awarding their Hot Shot of the Week Award. This award goes to the NeJST member with 12 or more games who shots the most pins over their average for the tournament.

Our Third Season Opener....

was at AMF Chicopee Lanes, Chicopee, MA on September 9th. 49 bowlers turned out for the event - 36 boys and 13 girls.
The Collegiate Boys Division fielded 8, Junior Boys Division 6, Major Boys Division 20, Girls Division 5, Junior Girls Division 4, and Prep Boys/Girls Division 7.
Chicopee Lanes put out a difficult PBA Shark pattern on the lanes. The field average was 158.22 with boys averaging 158.61 and girls 157.17. Due to time constraints with early evening leagues step-ladder finals were on a house condition. The field average game then was 165.

The Collegiate Boys Division averaged 173.8. High qualifier was Ryan Evans, Acton, MA with 1174 for the six games. High qualifying game of 217 was rolled by Alexander Raedel, Dartmouth, MA. Step-ladder average for the division was 185.9. Alex threw the high match play game of 245 in the final match to clinch the gold medal. Silver medalist was Ryan. Bronze medalist was Danny Khuu, Brockton, MA.

The Junior Boys Division qualifying average was 147.1. High qualifier was Jalen Scott-Jones, Riverside, RI with 1028. He also had the high game of 195. The division's average during match play was 162.8. Jalen won the gold. Michael Barbone, Newton, MA took the silver medal. Stephen Rogers, Poughkeepsie, NY took the bronze.

The Major Boys Division averaged 161.3 during qualifying. High qualifier was Shane Reid, Enfield, CT with 1144. The high qualifying game of 245 was rolled by Chris Moseley, Stoughton, MA. The match play average was 180.3. Alex Weglarz, Schaghticoke, NY won the gold medal from Shane by rolling a 300. David Rice of Shaftsbury, VT went home with the bronze medal.

The Girls Division had a 168.7 qualifying average. Leigh Pratt, Troy, NY was high qualifier with 1126 and had the high game of 210. The girls averaged 160.4 during match play. Amanda Labossiere, Buzzards Bay, MA took gold; Leigh, silver; and Amie Tomblin, Milford, NH, bronze.

The Junior Girls qualifying average was 152.2. Nicole Trudell, Coventry, RI was high qualifier with 1158 and had the high game of 220. This group averaged 151.5 during match play. Gold medalist was Ashley Reid, Enfield, CT. Nicole finished with the silver. Bronze went to Brittany Reid, Enfield, CT.

The Prep Boys/Girls Division averaged 133.7 during qualifying. High qualifier was Jadee Scott-Jones with 990. The 191 high game was thrown by Jackie Evans, Acton, MA. The match play average was 124.3. Medalist were Nick Sauve, Mansfield, MA, gold; Jadee, silver; and Jackie, bronze.

Fifteen bowlers vied for three spots in the USBC Jr. Gold Championship to be held in the Detroit area next July. Advancers are Leigh Pratt (NY), Shane Reid (CT), and Alex Weglarz (NY).

Members receive a plaque on which to display their medals, renewing members may opt for a tournament record book instead. Members are also eligible for awards for honor scores, Litchco's Hot Shot of the Week awards, and a $3 credit towards the entry fee for the Championship tournament for each tournament entered more than seven.
