18th Tournament at Strikers East, Raymond, NH

The NeJST returned to Raymond, NH, on March 25th for the 18th event of the regular season. The high qualifying series of 1359 was rolled by Eric Brown (CT). The high game of the day, as well as a new personal high, was Chris Colella's (MA) 288.

In the Collegiate Boys Division Tim Brown (CT), in his first tournament, made match play defeating Steven Clement (MA) 178-146, and Andrew Twarog (MA) 223-204, and Steve Hardy, Jr. 247-205, only to fall to Ben Rund (RI) 212-246 in the final match.

Alexandra Kiesman (MA) garnered the gold in the Girls Division with Brittany Garcia (NH) taking silver and Amie Tomblin (NH) bronze.

In the Junior Boys Division, Chris Colella (MA) placed 1st, Cody Reichenberger (VT) 2nd, and Tyler Armour (VT), in his first NeJST appearance, 3rd.

Amanda Labossiere (MA) took the gold medal in the Junior Girls Division, Tiffany Currier (NH) got silver, and Kamariah Jackman (CT) bronze.

As usual the largest field of the day was the Major Boys with 14 entrants. Michael Leyva (CT) climbed the ladder defeating Ryan Evans (MA), Keenan Collins (CT), Shane Reid (CT), and Eric Brown (CT) to finish with the gold medal.

Vernon Billington (CT) won the Prep Division with Jackie Evans (MA) second.

There are four events left in our regular season. The next tournament will be held April 8th...Easter Sunday...at Yankee Lanes, Keene, NH beginning at 1PM. Double points will be awarded to all participants.

The Championship Tournament and BASH will be held June 23 & 24th at Bowl-O-Rama, Newington, CT. As of this date 42 bowlers have qualified for the Championship. Anybody can enter the BASH. Flyers for both tournaments can be downloaded from our message board.

Silver Lanes, E. Hartford, CT 3/18/07

43 bowlers competed in the 17th Northeast Junior Scratch Tournament of the season held at AMF Silver Lanes, E. Hartford, CT on March 18th. Nick Demaine, Silver's lanesman, said it wouldn't be an easy shot. Alexandra Kiesman (MA) was the only bowler to average over 200 during qualifying rolling a nice 1248. Danny Khuu had a 268 for the day's high game.

We had a field of 10 in the prep division with representatives from RI, NY, MA, and CT. Tori Whetstone climbed the step-ladder defeating Jackie Evans (MA) 200-143, Gazmine Mason (RI) 166-138, Ross Whitehead (NY) 173-133, and finally Jadee Scott-Jones (RI) 198-192 to win the gold medal.

Jr Boys Division: (l to r) Chris Colella (MA) earned the gold, Jonathan Sauve (MA) silver, and Joseph Arsenault (MA) bronze.













Jr. Girls Division: (l to r) Nicole Trudell (RI) fell to Amanda Labossiere (MA) 164-243 in the final match of the step-ladder. Ashley Reid, not pictured, won the bronze medal.

We would like to congratulate Nicole on her winning of the Girl's Scratch Division of the RI Pepsi Tournament.

Major Boys Division: David Lewis (RI) climbed the ladder with some very nice bowling for the win - defeating Kenny Carney (NY) 258-194, Floyd Prince (NY) 258-201, David Rice (VT) 220-173, and Jonathan Kalbfus 192-170.

In the Collegiate Boys Division we had our third ladder scaling of the day. Rai Doblemeier (RI) defeated Josh Parthree (MA) 182-151, Alex Raedel (RI) 237-148, Dion Baker 198-186, and Danny Khuu 235-172.

Congratulations are also in order for Rai for winning the Boy's Scratch Division of the RI Pepsi Tournament.

USBC Intercollegiate Sectional Results

This past weekend USBC held their Intercollegiate Championship Sectionals across the country. Leigh Pratt (Western New England, MA), bowling in Allentown, PA, finished 1st in the women's singles. Rebekah Diers (McKendree, IL), competing in Fairview Heights, IL, finished 2nd in the singles. Both girls advance to the national event in May in Alabama.

Qualifying for 2008 Jr Gold Championship

Beginning this weekend in Raymond, NH, we can qualify bowlers for the 2008 Jr Gold tournament if there is sufficient interest. As usual, we must have 6 bowlers to hold the qualifier and can advance 1 in 5. Entry fee, as usual, will be $50.

    WESTGATE LANES, Brockton, MA - 3/4/07

    63 bowlers competed March 4th at Westgate Lanes, Brockton, Ma. The high series of 1311 was rolled by Danny Khuu (MA) who just eked out Jenn Boissell (MA) who rolled 1310. The high game of the day, 267, was thrown by Danny.

    Our last four 2007 Jr Gold spots were awarded to Samantha Simpson (MA), Darrin Borges (MA), Joseph Mello (MA), and Jalen Scott-Jones (RI). For the remaining season tournaments we can qualify bowlers for the 2008 Jr Gold Championship if there is sufficient interest.


    Kevin Thibeault (MA) (r) won the Prep Division gold medal in his first NeJST tournament. Gazmine Mason (RI) (l) won her first silver medal.

    Vernon Billington (CT) received the Prep bronze.







    The Jr Boys Division was an all Mass. finals. Pictured left to right respectively the medalists were Justin Avylla (bronze), Darrin Borges (silver), and Joseph Mello (gold).





    Kyle Marcure (MA) (r) climbed the ladder from 6th qualifying position only to fall to Ryan Evans (MA) (l) in the championship match.

    Greg Andrews (MA) finished in 3rd place.





    Deanna Outland (RI) (l) defeated Jenn Boisselle (MA) (r) to win her first gold medal of the season.


    Alley Kiesman (MA) earned the bronze medal.





    Amanda Labossiere (MA) (l) won the Jr Girls Division. Not pictured, Kelly Strawderman (MA) placed 2nd. Nicole Trudell (RI) (r) finished in 3rd place.




    Rai Doblmeier (RI) (l) won 5 matches to clinch the Collegiate Boys Division gold medal. Danny Khuu (MA) (r) placed second. Tony Bennett received the bronze medal for third place.

    Hoe Bowl on the Hill 2/25/07

    62 bowlers competed in our first tour event at Hoe Bowl on the Hill, Kingston, NY. While not putting out a true sport condition, the center management was surprised at how well the bowlers scored on the condition. The high qualifying series of 1372 was rolled by Jeff Werner (NY). Caitlin McCaw (CT) had the high game - 269.

    Vera Wisniewski (CT) finished 3rd in the Girls Division


    Leigh Pratt (NY) (r) defeated Caitlin McCaw (CT) (l) for the gold medal in the Girls Division 204 - 203.



    Tyler Rocco (NY) defeated the 4th and 3rd place qualifiers to garner the bronze medal in the Jr Boys Division.



    Nick Torres (NY) (r) defeated Teddy Bickert (NY) (l) to take the win in the Jr. Boys Division.




    Rebecca Pratt (NY) (l) took the bronze medal for the Jr Girls Division. Liz Pratt (NY) (c) received the silver medal. And Kamariah Jackman (CT) (r) won the gold.



    Floyd Prince (NY) worked his way up the ladder to land the bronze medal in the Major Boys Division.



    Jeff Werner (NY) (l) defeated Alex Weglarz (NY) (r) for 1st place in the Majors.




    Vernon Billington (CT) placed 3rd in the Prep Division.



    Ross Whitehead (NY) (l) placed 2nd. And Jesse Lent (NY) (r) in his first NeJST tournament placed 1st.



    And advancing to the Jr Gold National Championships in Buffalo, NY in July are Liz Pratt, Jeff Werner, Nick Torres (all of NY), and Will Romaine (CT).
