The NeJST had the 11th tournament of the season at Mardi Bob in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mardi Bob management was wonderful, giving our bowlers their most difficult lane pattern thus far - a 40 foot, gutter to gutter, flat shot. With 67 entries the field average was 156.
Six entrants in the Collegiate Boys Division averaged 181. Jim Bosse (CT) averaged 196. Dan Quesnell (NY) had the high qualifying series with 1190. Jim defeated Dan in step-ladder 173-164 to win the gold.
The Girls Division had 9 entrants averaging 164. Caitlin McCaw (CT) had the high qualifying game of 246 and high average in her division with 182. Caitlin defeated Leigh Pratt (NY) 164-161 for first place.
15 entrants in the Junior Boys Division averaged 154. Teddy Bickert (NY) was high qualifier in this division with a 184 average. He fell to Chris Pruner (NY) who climbed the ladder from 6th place to garner the gold.
The Junior Girls Division had 4 entrants averaging 132. Kamariah Jackman (CT), who leads the Division MVP rankings, had a 160 average for the day, but was defeated in the final match by Liz Pratt (NY).
The Major Boys as usual was the largest Division of the event with 25 entrants who averaged 163. Alex Weglarz (NY) defeated Ryan Evans (MA) in the final match to win the gold, with an average of 192 on the day.
Eight entrants in the Prep Division averaged 124. High qualifier Corrado Marone (NY) defeated Tommy Tkacz (CT) to win his first gold medal of the season.
Advancing to the USBC Jr Gold Championship in Buffalo next July were Stephanie Brockway (NY), Kyle Rasmussen (CT), Jeremy Lavoie (CT), and Charles Bonis (NY).
