Congratulations to Caitlin!!

Caitlin has just received notification that she passed her USBC Silver Level Coaching Certification. She attended the three day course in January at Carolier Lanes in New Jersey. She has been a Bronze Level Coach for several years.

Good Sportsmanship

One of the attributes we hope the bowlers in NeJST will learn to cultivate is good sportsmanship.

The mental aspect of the sport of bowling is probably the most important part of developing into a good bowler. It encompasses learning to personally deal with frustration when bowling badly, with euphoria when bowling well, and interacting with other bowlers during it all.

This means you do not throw your bowling balls around - not into your bags, not across the concourse or parking lot.... not slamming fists into expensive equipment such as ball returns or scoring computers - those are not to be kicked either.... not throwing rosin bags, shoes, etc. anywhere.

You also do not quit a game / match unless you are injured and then you approach a tournament official with a request to withdraw.

Getting angry because you are not scoring well or are bothered by another bowler is not a reason to walk away from a game. Any bowler doing so will be disqualified from that tournament, forfeiting all points. In addition, as has been our practice, the bowler will be suspended from the next tournament or permanently, if the infraction merits.

Good sportsmanship should be a priority not just in bowling but in life in general

JR GOLD UPDATE

I have spoken with Peggy Kosinski at Jr Gold. She has reserved us the additional 10 spots...and informs me that it leaves us with 12 spots. I don't know where the other one comes from but we'll take it.

Therefore, we will have 4 spots available at each of the next three events (Norwich, Kingston, and Brockton). If any go unclaimed, they will be available at the following tournaments.

I would like all junior gold members, whether or not you intend to try to qualify or are already qualified, who will be attending the next three tournaments to show up for a meeting an hour before start time. Thanks

ATTN: JR GOLD MEMBERS NOT YET QUALIFIED FOR BUFFALO

According to Bowl.com there are only about 80 spots left nationally for the Buffalo tournament in July.

I would suggest that anyone still wanting to qualify for Buffalo comes to the Norwich tournament this coming Sunday. We will get as many qualified as possible this weekend and see if we need to get some spots reserved quickly.

Hopefully all the already qualified bowlers will come to support those that have not been as fortunate thus far.

Lets plan on having a strategy meeting at noon, before the tournament.

I just realized that the link to the Rogue's Gallery was not working. It has been fixed.

If anyone has pictures they would like to share...e-mail them to me and I'll set up an album for them.
